Toddlers/Preschoolers

Ages 2 and up

For toddlers and preschoolers, we continue to build on the skills children have developed in infancy. We also foster development of the child’s growing social skills and participation within our community of learners.

The skills we focus on are independent eating, large and small motor skills, emergent literature (reading and singing), vocabulary development, early math (counting, sorting) and social interactions. Our mixed age group fosters compassion and kindness and a chance for toddlers and preschoolers to reflect upon their earlier developmental stages.

We strive to keep toddlers and preschoolers engaged with daily art projects, frequent rotation of toys and play materials, and exploration of various themes that match children’s interests and the seasons.

A child who has become master of his acts through long and repeated exercises, and who has been encouraged by the pleasant and interesting activities in which he has been engaged, is a child filled with health and joy and remarkable for his calmness and discipline.
